So... I am just calling it the "Rear Rack" for now. I made a similar one in 2019 and planned to start making it, but then COVID hit and I was overwhelmed with front rack orders when the bike industry boomed. As bike camping trends have shifted toward rear racks, I decided to dust off my design, make a few updates, and produce several for the 2026 MADE Show.
Here is a list the highlights of the rack below:
Extremely Light: The lightest lower eyelet / axle mounted rack that can also carrier panniers on the market. Weighting in at 570g or 1.25 lbs with all hardware and struts.
Extremely Versatile: Modular dropouts makes mounting the rack to your bike a cinch. I currently make four sizes, three that mount to eyelets and one that mounts to an thru-axle that is compatible with a Robert Axle Project Fit Kit
No-Cut Stays: Most rear racks come with long aluminum stays that attach your rack to the seat stays or seat post. Not this rack! I make my stays right here in Oakland, CA. You may ask why, well it's just my attempt to keep the lines of the rack clean and to simplify the mounting process and to make them super strong. I use 4130 steel for both the tubing and the flat mounting points. I make the stays in 1/2 inch increments, so you always get the best fit possible and is super easy to install.
Panniers / Three-Pack mounts: This rack offers a couple of mounting options, You can use micro panniers, three-pack / Cargo cage options, or even classic full size panniers if you want - the sky is the limit!
